Nautica Malibu Triathlon

I had the honor of photographing the Nautica Malibu Triathlon for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles again for the second year. There was plenty of excitement, as Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey were amongst the many athletes that entered this race and raised money for charity. The downside was trying to work alongside the brutal paparazzi! Arghh!!

Jennifer Lopez finished the race in 2 hours, 23 minutes and 28 seconds. It was quite sweet to see her husband, Marc Anthony, cheer her on at every moment. By the way, she raised a whopping $127,000.00 for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Woohoo!

Here's a little sneak peek (more to come).

Childrens Hospital Los Angeles

I had a wonderful opportunity to photograph Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles' Annual Prom and Radiothon along with my partner in crime, Jennifer Daigle. Celebrating its 5th year in raising money for the hospital, the Radiothon is hosted by 104.3 KBIG and sponsored by Foresters. Many volunteers (including my new friends Camille and Josephine) came out to answer phones and support the hospital and the children. What a wonderful event to raise money and one of the best organizations. If you are feeling generous, please donate to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Every little bit can help.

In addition to the Radiothon, the hospital organizes the most spectacular prom for the children of the hospital and their families. Celebrity guests come out to visit with the kids as well. The main lawn of the hospital was decorated for the festivities, prom dresses were brought in for the girls and tuxedos for the boys. Make-up artists and hair stylists were available to get the girls all dolled-up and KBIG DJ's played great tunes all night.

Some of the celebrity guests present were KBIG DJ's, Irma Blanco, Kari Steele and St. John, Adrienne Bailon of the Cheetah Girls, Brenda Song of "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody", Kay Panabaker of "Phil of the Future", Mel B of the Spice Girls, Maria Menounos of Access Hollywood, Wilmer Valderrama of "That 70's Show", Susie Castillo of MTV's TRL, Shane Sparks of "So You Think You Can Dance" and MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew", Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith, Super Cr3w and SoReal Cru of MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew".

Alexandra's Portrait Session

It's hard to believe, but Alexandra is only 12! I KNOW!!! She will be celebrating her Bat Mitzvah next month. I have the honor of shooting her big day...I can't wait.

Her theme is Broadway Theater, so we thought it best to take to Hollywood Blvd. for her Portrait Session. The whole family came to help out, Mom (who always looks fashionably chic), Dad (whom is a great film artist) and Big Sis (who also shares a love for photography--I shot her Bat Mitzvah a few years back).

When I tell you that I had fun with the Goldmann clan, I really mean it. I feel like they are family and they make me feel the same. We encountered some real characters that night, some amusing and others that were downright scary. We had some good laughs over it.

Alexandra seemed to be a natural voguing for the camera and dancing in the streets. She's more than a triple threat, I found out. She not only sings, dances and acts, but she also plays a few instruments (guitar, piano, and I can't remember the other) as well. I can't even play the triangle. YIKES!!!

Thank you Goldmann's for a wonderful experience. Looking forward to the big celebration.

Jossara Jinaro

Nothing like a friend helping out a friend....Jossara so kindly modeled for me so I can practice using light in a completely different way than I am use to or even comfortable with. Isn't she gorgeous??!! It was quite challenging and took much time to set up, but I think the results were well worth it. Thanks Joss for being so patient!
